East Launceston

This leafy suburb is a favourite among many Launceston families and couples alike. Located adjacent to the city it features many beautiful old homes from grand to cottage in style and size. Many of these properties have been beautifully renovated.

Living in East Launceston gives you easy access to the city – you could leave your car at home and enjoy a lovely walk to work, after work and on the weekends head to the Launceston Aquatic Centre a great facility providing entertainment and fitness for the whole family (with brand new gym opened in 2014). For some down time there are several great cafes to choose from for a catch up with friends and family and there is also a very popular grocer/providore on Abbott Street (Alps and Amici) selling local fruit, vegetables, meats and pre-prepared meals for those times when you’re just too busy to cook .

The options for schooling in this area are varied with an excellent public primary school (East Launceston) as well as several private schools – Scotch Oakburn, Launceston Church Grammar, Launceston Preparatory and St Thomas Mores.
